Jag vet att många utlandssvenskar saknar det svenska fikat — jag tycker att det är befriande att inte ständigt behöva avvärja kakor och bullar.
Men visst fikar man i andra länder också, om än inte alltid så organiserat som här.
Vad jag däremot inte tycker om, är ovanan att fika på gående fot. Det är förresten inte bara fika man tuggar i sig gående eller stående — det kan ju vara hela mål-tider — ett oskick som förefaller ha spritt sig hit.
Jag gillar det lättsamma i att inte känna sig tvungen att bjuda på något — eller att bara dricka en slät kopp något, ibland kanske med ett kex till. Eller om man har en god efterrätt, kunna ringa grannen och fråga om de kommer efter middagen och hjälper till att äta upp pajen — och de ta'r med sig ett halvt glasspaket och kommer.

Och det här är väl inte rätt plats att ge sig in i en diskussion om skillnaden mellan amerikanska och brittiska ”biscuits”.

Men bortsett från att man ofta ta'r lättare på fikat så tycker jag nog att man i de flesta länder är lika matfixerade som svenskarna är. Jag kan reta mig ordentligt på alla "måsten" och all överkonsumtion när det kommer till mat.
